Hannah Dorathia Burmeister (standing in back).Father was John Black. Husband John (not shown born in Germany in 1820). HDB born in Germany, Nov 1824. Married John in 1843. About 1863, John and 3 sons died of the Black Plague. Son, Carl moved to America and Dorathia followed him 12 years later in 1883 and lived with the Ferdinand Schmeling family and Carl and then with his wife Bertha and him after their marriage. [Had TB] Died of the flu, Nov. 25, 1912 (a month before Bertha). Dorothy is the mother of Carl. Dorothy or Dorthia and Bertha are both burried in The Peace Lutheran Cemetery (on the way East side of Cemetery - Real high stone on the grave.)The Peace Lutheran Cemetery Is Just North West of Hutch on county road 12, just on the curve, you turn left and go up a highhill (small road).
Carl Burmeister (sitting on right). Born Oct 18, 1849 in Pommerania Germany and Died Feb 12, 1936 at 86 yrs old. For 14 years before his death, he was practically deaf and the laster part of Nov 1935, he suffered a slight stroke from which he only partly recovered. Funeral services at Friedens Lutheran church (now Peace Lutheran) by Rev. Schulze. Miss Cordia Schulze sang the German hymn "Wo findet die Seele, die Heimat, di Ruh" and "Abide with Me". Buried in Oakland cemetery, Hutchinson. His parents were John and Dorothy Burmeister (see above). He was confirmed at age 14 and at about that time, the Black Plague took a frightful toll throughout Germany (about 1863). Carl's father and his three brothers died of it and he then decided to come to America in 1871 and stayed in Acoma township with the Ferdinand Schmeling family. For 10 years he spent his winters with the Schmeling family and summers worked on a farm near Hastings. Until Carl Married Bertha, his mother lived with the Schmelings also. Married Bertha Blanck on 10/24/1884 & had 7 children (see below). After Bertha died, he lived with his son Emil W. on the old homestead, though for longer or shorter intervals he lived with some of his other children also.
Bertha (Blanck or Blank) Burmeister (sitting on left). Born July 1857 in Germany, the daughter of Frederick and Ernestina Blanck. When she was young, her parents emigrated to Acoma township. Married Carl Burmeister 10/28/1884. She was a long sufferer from asthma in a severe form, but she died Dec 21, 1912 of a heart stroke of paralysis received on Dec 17 and from which she never rallied, at 55 yrs 5 months old. Funeral Dec 24, 1912. Buried in the Peace Lutheran cemetery in Acoma township.

Paul Herman Burmeister (sitting in front of Dorothy). Born Dec 1, 1884, died Dec 5, 1943 of a brain tumor (age 59 yrs 4 days). Paul Burmeister Obituary. Married Martha Marie Hackbarth May 25th 1921. Martha was born Feb 10, 1896 and died Nov 19, 1983 of pancreatic cancer.
Had 3 children, Margaret (Southward - born June 16, 1922). Married Carl Southward. Had 3 children, Diane (born Oct 12, 1944, who had 1 child, Steve Blake who had a son Alex), Gary, John.
Gladys Ruth (Meyer born May 26, 1925, died July 4, 1990 of a blood clot following heart surgery) married Harold Reinhold Meyer (born Nov 26, 1924 died June 20, 1995 of emphysema). Had 2 children, Ronald Paul (born May 28, 1949, married Sharon Mae Grams April 29, 1995), Carol Jean (Dunn, born Nov 3, 1952 - who had one child, Michelle Neikirk, born Nov 28, 1971. Married/divorced Brian Richard Meade, married Philip King Dunn 12/29/86.) Michelle married Peter Edward Neikirk on Sept 25, 1999 and has 2 children, Morgan Lauren born Jan 13, 2004 and Joshua Edward born June 28, 2006) who has Down Syndrome.
Ruth (Ervin born Jan 29, 1928 died Sept 2, 2002 of cancer, Married James Ervin (Jim died Dec 5, 1991 of a heart attack)).

Frank Burmeister (sitting on Carl's lap on right). Born July 31, 1888, died Oct 23, 1937 at 49yrs, 2 months, 12 days. Had TB and only 1 lung and spent time in a TB sanitorium. Never married. See more extensive description with picture below.
Alma Adams (sitting on Bertha's lap). Born Feb. 8, 1891, died Oct 17, 1985 of GI bleeding. Married Peter Adams June 4, 1913 & had 3 children: Arnold Adams (born April 3, 1915, married Marie Petersen & had 3 children, Duane Adams, Doug Adams, Lois), Ardena born July 27, 1920, and Arthur born January 6, 1927. Peter born June 30, 1889, died December 11, 1947 after a stroke.

Emil and Alice had 2 children, Vernon and Melvin. Vernon Burmeister b. 1921, d.1989, married Lorraine and had 6 children, Robert, Carol, Cyndy, Karl, Lyle and Lori. Robert and his wife Sharon had 6 children, Mark, Rachel and husband Jeremiah have sons James born May 2008 and Gabriel born in 2010, Sarah (married Jason Sloan), Becky, Michael and Stephen. Mark and Sarah had three boys, Joshua, Matthew and Nathan. Melvin Burmeister married Shirley & had 2 children, Tammy and Debra. Tammy had 2 girls and a boy. Debra (and Troy Lanie) had one son, Brandon Lanie who died in a hunting accident at 14 on 11/18/06.

2)Delores (died about 1954 at 20 yrs old, buried Oalkand Cemetery, Hutchinson MN. She was not married but was engaged to be married the year she died).
3)Leona (b. 4/25/1928 d. 9/9/2011) (married Donald Schlueter and children are: Dale, Gary, Neal, & Owen)
4)Myron Seller (married Leanne Jager & had Lisa and Amy).

Their wedding attendants were Otto Burmeister and Miss Martha Larson who later became Mrs. Burmeister (the other Martha Burmeister).

celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary in the Peace Lutheran church basement May 31, 1970, hosted by their children and grandchildren. Rev. Otto Kuehl gave a short sermonette and prayer. Lois Adams a grandniece, sang "Happiness Is," accompanied on the piano by Karen Schmaltz. Mrs. Donald Schlueter gave the reading, "Just Fifty Years Ago." Mrs. Ervin Seller and Mrs. Myron Seller poured coffee while Mrs. James (Ruth) Ervin, a niece and Dale Schlueter, a grandson, served punch. Marvin Seller tended guest book.

Leona Schlueter (b.4/25/1928), (wife of the late Donald Schlueter d.5/7/2005) of Cedar Mills Township, Meeker County, died Friday, Sept. 9, 2011, at the Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis of a stroke. She was 83 years old.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 14, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Cedar Mills Township, with interment in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 13, and 8 to 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 14, at the Dobratz-Hantge Chapel in Hutchinson and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church.

Ervin Seller married Rebecca & had 5 children: Marvin Seller, Marlan Seller, Mark Seller, Michelle (who is a St. Paul policeman) & one son who died - Meldon.
Ervin died 4/26/08 after having a hemorrhagic stroke in Hudson WI. Funeral services at Peace Lutheran in Hutchinson.
Becky Seller was diagnosed with Lymphoma and entered St. Mary's Nursing Home in Winsted, MN on Dec 7, 2015. She died Feb 14, 2016 at St. Mary's, having been brought to Hospice there earlier.

Otto Burmeister Born Nov 20, 1886, died in Dec. 1948 at his farm in Hutchinson at 62 yrs old, of heart failure. Buried Oakland cemetery, Hutchinson. He had been confined to him home with a heart condition since Feb. Otto was baptized 5/28/1887 at Immanuel Lutheran church of Acoma. Confirmed 4/8/1900 in Peace Lutheran church. Married Martha Larson June 30, 1920 at St. John's Lutheran church of Cedar Mills (Martha b. 12/18/1892 died 11/22/1974).

Frank Herman Burmeister
born 7/31/1888 in Hutchinson. Baptized 9/30/1888 at Acoma and confirmed in the Zion's Lutheran church at West Lynn on 7/13/1902. Entered the Army during WWI, Sept 1917 and was sent first Camp Dodge in Iowa and later transferred to Camp Cody in New Mexico. There he contracted influenza from which he became very seriously ill and never fully recovered. He died at Hutchinson Hospital 10/23/1937 of hemorrhages of the bowels. Buried at Oakland Cemetery in Hutchinson.

Emil Burmeister Born March 18, 1893, died June 27, 1962 at 69 yrs old. Emil died in New Ulm after an illness of several years; complications of surgery was the cause of death. He operated the family farm north of Hutchinson throughout most of his lifetime. Buried Oakland cemetery, Hutchinson. Married Alice Seller May 12, 1920. (Alice Born July 30, 1893, Died Aug 8, 1977 in Hutchinson, MN). Emil and Alice had 2 children, Vernon and Melvin.

Keith was diagnosed with ALS fall of 2007. Funeral at St. John's Lutheran Church, Cedar Mills, MN, Saturday, 12/11/10 at 11:00 AM). Alan cared for Keith till his death. Bruce has a dauther Megan (Hunter) Adams-Habitz of Sulphur, LA. Georgiana Dostal Adams has a brother, George Dostal, Hutchinson.
Peter Adams was born June 30, 1889 on a farm in Cedar Mills, the son of Mr/Mrs. Gustav Adams. died December 11, 1947 at the Litchfield hospital. He suffered from high blood pressure for some time and was admitted to the hospital after a stroke Monday afternoon 12/8. He died at 3:05 a.m. Thursday. Buried Oakland cemetery, Hutchinson,

Married June 12 in Marie Petersen's parent's home in Corvuso. Marie graduated Hutchinson High 1933 and from teacher's training in 1934. Taught in Renville and Meeker counties. Arnold graduated from Litchfield High in 1935 and the Diesel Engineering School in Mpls in 1936.
Arnold passed away March 30, 2001.

[no picture] Herman Frederick Ulrich and Augusta Ulrich. Augusta was Bertha Burmeister's sister who was born in Rosenfeld Germany, emigrated to Litchfield MN. She died 12/11/1911 after years of being bedridden for disease of the spleen. She was probably married to William Schumann in Germany before Herman and had children Lena, Minnie and Bertha (in Germany). Augusta married Herman 6/21/1882. Herman son of Mr/Mrs. Albert Ulrich, born 6/30/1854 in Laabs, Pomerania Germany and died 12/27/1932 at his son Paul's home from bladder cancer. Buried in Oakland Cemetery, Hutchinson. Herman came to Litchfield from Germany in 1882. They had 5 kids (cousins of Paul Burmeister). Children of Herman and/or Augusta were Henry Ulrich who married Emily and had daughter Mildred, Paul (see picture below), and Mrs. August (Minnie) Grady of Lincoln NE and Mrs. Henry (Bertha) Schatz (see below) of Hutchinson. Son, Frank died at 19 years old.

Paul (son of Herman and Augusta Ulrich) b. 2/2/1889 on the farm where he spent his life. Paul was baptized 6/9/1889 at Immanuel Lutheran church of Acoma and confirmed 5/19,1902 at Zion Lutheran church of Lynn township. Paul married Lillian nee. Dallman (Lilly) 10/1/1914, at the Acoma church. Paul and Lilly had seven children, 5 daughters: Mrs. Edward Luthens (Esther) of Hutchinson, Eleanor Ulrich, Mrs. Billy Fisher (Irene) of Temple, TX, Dorothy Ulrich, a student nurse at Eitel Hospital in Minneapolis, one daughter who preceded Paul in death, and 2 sons: Arnold of Collinwood township in Meeker county and Harold Ulrich.

[no picture] Mrs. Henry (Bertha) Schatz Bertha Schatz Born 2/10/1877 in Wangerin Germany to Mr/Mrs. William Schumann (Augusta Ulrich (above) was Schumann before Ulrich). Bertha came to America in 1882 (the year Augusta married Herman Ulrich). She was confirmed 4/10/1892 at Immanuel's Lutheran church of Acoma. She married Henry Schatz of Brownton 5/19/1899 in Peace Lutheran church. Mrs. Schatz contracted a heart ailment 3 years before her death in 1949. Buried at Oakland cemetery Hutchinson. She was survived by daughter, Ida at home; three sons, Carl of St. Joseph Mo, Arthur of Hutchinson and Paul of Los Angeles; two sisters, Minnie Grady of Lincoln, Neb. and Lena in Germany; two half brothers, Henry Ulrich of Hutchinson and Paul Ulrich of Bear Lake, and one grandchild.

	Ed and Lena Seller Wedding at the bride's home. Their wedding attendants were Otto Burmeister and Miss Martha Larson who later became Mrs. Burmeister (the other Martha Burmeister).

	Ed and Lena Seller celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary in the Peace Lutheran church basement May 31, 1970, hosted by their children and grandchildren. Rev. Otto Kuehl gave a short sermonette and prayer. Lois Adams a grandniece, sang "Happiness Is," accompanied on the piano by Karen Schmaltz. Mrs. Donald Schlueter gave the reading, "Just Fifty Years Ago." Mrs. Ervin Seller and Mrs. Myron Seller poured coffee while Mrs. James (Ruth) Ervin, a niece and Dale Schlueter, a grandson, served punch. Marvin Seller tended guest book.

	Leona Schleuter Leona Schlueter (b.4/25/1928), (wife of the late Donald Schlueter d.5/7/2005) of Cedar Mills Township, Meeker County, died Friday, Sept. 9, 2011, at the Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis of a stroke. She was 83 years old. Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 14, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Cedar Mills Township, with interment in the church cemetery. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 13, and 8 to 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 14, at the Dobratz-Hantge Chapel in Hutchinson and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church. click here for Leona's funeral program
	Ervin and Becky Seller Ervin is Lena's son Ervin Seller married Rebecca & had 5 children: Marvin Seller, Marlan Seller, Mark Seller, Michelle (who is a St. Paul policeman) & one son who died - Meldon. Ervin died 4/26/08 after having a hemorrhagic stroke in Hudson WI. Funeral services at Peace Lutheran in Hutchinson. Becky Seller was diagnosed with Lymphoma and entered St. Mary's Nursing Home in Winsted, MN on Dec 7, 2015. She died Feb 14, 2016 at St. Mary's, having been brought to Hospice there earlier.

Buried Oakland cemetery, Hutchinson. He had been confined to him home with a heart condition since Feb. Otto was baptized 5/28/1887 at Immanuel Lutheran church of Acoma. Confirmed 4/8/1900 in Peace Lutheran church. Married Martha Larson June 30, 1920 at St. John's Lutheran church of Cedar Mills (Martha b. 12/18/1892 died 11/22/1974). 	Frank Herman Burmeister born 7/31/1888 in Hutchinson. Baptized 9/30/1888 at Acoma and confirmed in the Zion's Lutheran church at West Lynn on 7/13/1902. Entered the Army during WWI, Sept 1917 and was sent first Camp Dodge in Iowa and later transferred to Camp Cody in New Mexico. There he contracted influenza from which he became very seriously ill and never fully recovered. He died at Hutchinson Hospital 10/23/1937 of hemorrhages of the bowels. Buried at Oakland Cemetery in Hutchinson.

Emil died in New Ulm after an illness of several years; complications of surgery was the cause of death. He operated the family farm north of Hutchinson throughout most of his lifetime. Peter Adams was born June 30, 1889 on a farm in Cedar Mills, the son of Mr/Mrs. Gustav Adams. died December 11, 1947 at the Litchfield hospital. 	Arnold (son of Alma and Peter Adams) and Marie Adams and Duane, Lois and Doug 1997 Married June 12 in Marie Petersen's parent's home in Corvuso. Marie graduated Hutchinson High 1933 and from teacher's training in 1934. Taught in Renville and Meeker counties. Arnold graduated from Litchfield High in 1935 and the Diesel Engineering School in Mpls in 1936. Arnold passed away March 30, 2001.

[no picture]	Herman Frederick Ulrich and Augusta Ulrich. Augusta was Bertha Burmeister's sister who was born in Rosenfeld Germany, emigrated to Litchfield MN. She died 12/11/1911 after years of being bedridden for disease of the spleen. She was probably married to William Schumann in Germany before Herman and had children Lena, Minnie and Bertha (in Germany). Augusta married Herman 6/21/1882. Herman son of Mr/Mrs. Albert Ulrich, born 6/30/1854 in Laabs, Pomerania Germany and died 12/27/1932 at his son Paul's home from bladder cancer. Buried in Oakland Cemetery, Hutchinson. Herman came to Litchfield from Germany in 1882. They had 5 kids (cousins of Paul Burmeister). Children of Herman and/or Augusta were Henry Ulrich who married Emily and had daughter Mildred, Paul (see picture below), and Mrs. August (Minnie) Grady of Lincoln NE and Mrs. Henry (Bertha) Schatz (see below) of Hutchinson. Son, Frank died at 19 years old.
	Carl Paul William and Lillian Paul (son of Herman and Augusta Ulrich) b. 2/2/1889 on the farm where he spent his life. Paul was baptized 6/9/1889 at Immanuel Lutheran church of Acoma and confirmed 5/19,1902 at Zion Lutheran church of Lynn township. Paul married Lillian nee. Dallman (Lilly) 10/1/1914, at the Acoma church. Paul and Lilly had seven children, 5 daughters: Mrs. Edward Luthens (Esther) of Hutchinson, Eleanor Ulrich, Mrs. Billy Fisher (Irene) of Temple, TX, Dorothy Ulrich, a student nurse at Eitel Hospital in Minneapolis, one daughter who preceded Paul in death, and 2 sons: Arnold of Collinwood township in Meeker county and Harold Ulrich.

Bertha came to America in 1882 (the year Augusta married Herman Ulrich). She was confirmed 4/10/1892 at Immanuel's Lutheran church of Acoma. She married Henry Schatz of Brownton 5/19/1899 in Peace Lutheran church. Mrs. Schatz contracted a heart ailment 3 years before her death in 1949. Buried at Oakland cemetery Hutchinson. She was survived by daughter, Ida at home; three sons, Carl of St. Joseph Mo, Arthur of Hutchinson and Paul of Los Angeles; two sisters, Minnie Grady of Lincoln, Neb. and Lena in Germany; two half brothers, Henry Ulrich of Hutchinson and Paul Ulrich of Bear Lake, and one grandchild.
